About Us

Creativity, Competence, Compassion and Character- these traits define us and have driven us to our passion to work with small and marginal farmers whose lands are in the upper reaches, exposed to vagaries of nature.

We believe that grant, charity, technology or market alone cannot sustainably address the problem of povertys. We have promoted Inclusive Business Eco-system, where key stakeholders including communities, companies, government, investors, technical experts and entrepreneurs work together on the challenge of permanently eliminating poverty.

Our agro-forestry model aims at creating an innovative, system changing process through which small farmer's family not only achieves enhanced food, nutrition and income security, but also meet the demand of leading industries requiring supply of vital raw materials, such as pulp and paper, herbal products, and other such agro based businesses.

While doing so, we also reduce global warming through carbon sequestration, and conserve natural resources by gradually enhancing the fertility and productivity of land.

We call the model inclusive because it not only benefits people with land, but also the people without land (Landless) and rural unemployed youth. We generate approximately 100 person days of wage employment per acre during harvesting & transportation of matured woods. This not only provides landless with employment at home, but also protects women and adolescent girls from sexual exploitation when they migrate.

SAI identifies and train rural unemployed youth to become ‘Community Resource Person’ (CRP). Upon successful training they are inducted as full time employees with SAI to provide one-to-one support to the small farmers for which they earn attractive salary and social recognition.
